It gathers the most advanced young musicians of the Sistema in Lombardy, aged 13 to 20: an ongoing schedule of public concerts, intertwined with an explicit awareness of the humanitarian goals of social music-making, bears witness to the training purposes of the orchestra.
The growth of this symphonic ensemble can be traced since its debut under the baton of Daniele Rustioni in 2011, during the first campaign for collecting musical instruments “Costruire con la Musica” (Building with Music), organized in cooperation with Music Fund, Milano Musica and Teatro alla Scala. Since then, Alessandro Cadario and Pietro Mianiti share the music directorship of the orchestra.
As highlights, two appearances with the Oscar-winning composer Ennio Morricone (at Teatro degli Arcimboldi in Milan and Parco della Musica in Rome), and concerts with the well-known conductors Manuel López-Gómez and Kristiina Poska.
Soloists such as Enrico Dindo, Gabriele Cassone, Jeffrey Swan, Maurizio Zanini, and the pianists Katia and Marielle Labèque, who share principles and goals of the Sistema, have performed with FuturOrchestra, thus contributing to its artistic development.
